Who We Are
The Welcome Pantry is a client choice food pantry with a focus on fresh foods. The Pantry opened in 2023 after a needs assessment determined the need for increased capacity in serving those in need of food. Initially, the Welcome Pantry utilized a mobile distribution format, but the brick and mortar location opened in June of 2023 in the old Streaters’ building. Due to its location with a loading dock, the Welcome Pantry also serves as a hub for other food programs, such as Food for Backpacks, by accepting pallet deliveries and bulk donation that are able to be distributed throughout the region to other food shelves and meal sites.
What We Do
The Welcome Pantry follows The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) eligibility guidelines. We serve households who are at or below 300% of the poverty level.
